Dear universe, please listen

 Today,

he sat beside me — silent, heavy-hearted

His words were tired echo

of yet another interview

that didn’t end in hope

Four months have pass

since he left his last job

Four months of showing up

answering questions

and waiting for a yes that never came

And yet, he keeps tryin

Despite the weight of rejection

Despite the fear in his voice 

when he speaks in front of strangers

Despite the anxiety I know 

he tries so hard to hide

He reminds me of myself

quiet, uncertain

but trying, always trying

Dear Universe 

please don’t let this break him

Don’t let failure dim the light he still carries

Don’t let silence become his only comfort

Give him one chance — just on

Let this time be the beginning 

of something soft and steady

Let him prove that he is not a mistake

He’s not asking for much 

Only a space where his efforts are seen

Only a moment where the world whispers back .
